Question Of The Month - March
***Question of the Month - March***
Last month 5 lucky winners were drawn out the hat, each winning a £25.00 gift voucher. This month, there’s another chance to win…
We are presenting a big project for the modernisation of your Branch at the AGM on the 19th March with a major part of this is to do with technology.
The ultimate goal is a paperless office and branch, a clear and simple web application available for all members 24/7 providing access to local & national UNISON information, e-learning for members, a variety of communication streams, electronic forms and a stewards area with past case history.
***
So the question this month is:
What would encourage you to use this?

Branch Supports LGBT Community
Following a motion at the Branch Executive Committee, the branch requested that the flag be flown to demonstrate solidarity with the LGBT community in West Lothian and beyond.
Our Equalities Officer, Tara McLaren said “UNISON West Lothian welcome this decision which coincides with the Scottish Government’s passing of the Equal Marriage Bill. In recent years the flag has not only become a symbol for the LGBT community but an emblem for peace and solidarity with all communities. This is a step forward for equalities and chimes well with our values.”
From L - R: Tara McLaren & Brendan Moohan, UNISON West Lothian, Cllr John McGinty, Leader, West Lothian Council, Graham Hope, Chief Executive, West Lothian Council.

Lunchtime Aggregate Meetings
Following on from last year’s successful lunchtime meetings we will be holding a series of formally convened lunchtime AGM meetings in a number of workplaces in the week prior to the AGM.
http://www.westlothianunison.org/files/Aggregate_Meetings_2014.pdf
Voting will take place at these aggregate meetings. Votes will be counted and taken forward to the AGM.
Please note: if you attend one of the lunchtime AGM meetings and vote, you may attend the evening AGM at Howden Park on the 19th, but you will not be able to vote again.
These are very important meetings. Please make every effort to participate. Only a quorate AGM gives the branch the mandate we need to continue our work to modernise and improve the service given to you, our members.
